Gundaru Dam Courtallam Attractions - 2024

Gundaru Reservoir is located at the foot of the Western Ghats near the towns of Courtralam and Sengottai, Tenkasi Dt Thirunelveli. The dam is surrounded fully by mountains. Gundaru Dam is 15 KM away from Courtallam . One of the best tourist spot near Courtallam . The water was cold and fresh. Great place to spend time with friends and family. You can visit the nearby hill station by either Jeep or walk barefoot. The areas are divided by dam and multiple falls which helps to divert the crowd to a different section.  Monsoon is the Best time to visit Gundaru Dam and the rainy season too peak. The roadway views were excellent on which few were agricultural fields, banyan trees, river canal which was about to overflow and of course rainwater from hills flowing on sides of the road.  Kasi Viswanathar Temple in Tenkasi, a city in Tirunelveli district in the South Indian state of Tamil Nadu, is dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva. Vivekananda Rock Memorial Kanyakumari

 The Vivekananda Rock Memorial is a popular tourist monument in Kanyakumari , India. The memorial stands on one of two rocks located about 500 meters (1,600 ft) east of the mainland of Vavathurai. It was built in 1970 in honor of Swami Vivekananda who is said to have attained enlightenment on the rock. The atmosphere is so refreshing with see breeze and totally beautiful memorial. Tirparappu Waterfalls Kanyakumari

  Tirparappu Waterfalls are located in Kanyakumari district, Tamil Nadu state, India. The Kodayar River makes its descent at Thiruparappu. The waterfall at this place is about 13 kilometers from Pechiparai Dam. It is just a 15 min drive from the waterfalls. Easily reachable from NH66. The river bed is rocky and about 300 feet in length. It's a nice and safe fall to spend our time with friends and family. Better to go early to enjoy more & to avoid the crowd in the afternoon. Nice place to visit a must go in the monsoon season. Too Crowded as it was a weekend. Transportation facilities are available. Walking distance is minimum. For children, there is a swimming pool. Parking available. Small paid swimming pool for kids is there. Dressing room available for ladies. Soap, shampoo, & oil bath are restricted there but even people using it. Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Mandapam is a nice place to watch. lt is in the seashore. The specialty of the Memorial is that it has been arranged in such fashion that sunlight enters and falls on the urn containing ash of Mahatma Gandhi, on the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi OCTOBER 2 of every year. It is an architectural marvel that allows sunlight to enter the memorial particularly on that day only. Do visit to enjoy Memorial as well as Seashore. The sea namely bay of Bengal, the Arabian Sea, and the Indian Ocean mingle here in Cape Comorin making it unique.
